New Public Dashboard Highlights Projections for the 2010 Election
El Dorado Hills, Calif. - October 11, 2010 - VisualCalc, a provider of web-based analysis software and the creator of PublicDashboards.com, today announced the introduction of the Election 2010 Dashboard, a new free public dashboard that provides a graphical, easy-to-understand view into projected results and polling data for the U.S. 2010 mid-term elections. These Election 2010 Dashboards can be found at the following link:www.publicdashboards.com/election2010/.
The Election Dashboard contains four graphical indicators, each focused on a different set of races for this upcoming election:
- Overall Governors seats — current versus projected by party.
- Overall Senate seats — current versus projected by party.
- Overall House seats — current versus projected by party.
- State-by-state polling data for Governor and Senate races.
The Election 2010 Dashboard highlights some surprising trends and statistics associated with the U.S. mid-term election, such as:
- Republications are currently projected to gain 7 Governors seats, increasing their total from 24 to 31, while Democrats are projected to lose 7 seats, dropping their total from 26 to 19.
- Republications are projected to gain 46 House seats (from 179 to 225), while Democrats are projects to lose 46 House seats (from 256 to 210).
- Republications are projected to gain 9 Senate seats (from 41 to 50), while Democrats are projected to lose 9 seats (from 57 to 48).
"The 2010 mid-term election could significant change the composition of our government, " said Amit Mazumdar, CEO of VisualCalc. "This dashboard enables the public to easily monitor projected results all the way up to the actual election date. "
This new dashboard will be incorporated into VisualCalc's public dashboard website: PublicDashboards.com. PublicDashboards.com contains a set of interactive dashboards covering a variety of topical issues, including housing, the economy, the environment, education statistics, employment trends, and health-related data. PublicDashboards.com organizes detailed, complex data related to these issues into interactive, easy-to-use charts and graphs called indicators. These visual indicators help users identify trends or issues that might otherwise go undetected. In addition, these indicators enable users to perform deeper analysis into the underlying data. With a simple point-and-click, users can filter and drill-down into the indicators to customize their view of the data.
Organizations that track or communicate information related to any of these topics — including public or commercial websites and online or print media — are welcome to include links to these public dashboards on their websites. These links can be found on the PublicDashboards.com website.
